AWANA stands for Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed.

The key Bible verse is 2 Timothy 2:15; which says "Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth."
The goals of AWANA are:

1. To reach boys and girls with the gospel of Christ.
2. To train them to serve Him.

Awana has three key components. The games time for kids to burn off energy and have lots of fun. The handbook time gives the kids opportunity to recite the verses they have memorized and to continue working on new material with the help of their leaders. The third component is the council time. During this time we all assemble in the sanctuary for a time of worship, a time of instruction and to acknowledge handbook work completed.

AWANA blends Bible teaching, Scripture memorization and fun. The program we run here at Aylmer Evangelical Missionary Church is for children SK thru to Gr. 6.

At AEMC our desire is for people to feel connected and supported. One of the ways this can happen is by being part of a small group.

Small groups or life groups are groups of 6-12 people who meet regularly in houses or public places to support one another in their walks with God.

Together they build one another up and serve people outside their group. We have ongoing women's groups and mixed groups.

We have often run a 6 - 10 week Women's Bible studies in the Fall, Winter and Spring.

They were often Beth Moore studies, which include a teaching DVD and study book. Come and enjoy studying the Scriptures in-depth, sharing, praying together, and having lively discussion to encourage personal application of new insights learned.

Our teachers enjoy leading Bible-based and age-appropriate lessons to our child, youth, and adult classes. We believe, as I Timothy 3:16 says, that "All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching". We want to support our students in their journey with God by providing a caring environment and the encouragement to live in a spiritually fruitful manner.

Sunday School classes include the following age groups: Pre-school, Grades 1-3, Grades 4-6, Grades 7-8, High School, and Adult.

We meet together every Friday from September to June. A regular night consists of band practice at 6:30pm, games at 7:00, Bible study and snack at 8:00. We also have guest speakers, movie nights, and special events like fundraisers, and bowling nights.

Our Youth, ranging from ages 12-18, is a group that includes everyone no matter their belief, ethnicity, or status. We support one another in any way we can. Our goal as leaders is to help raise the next generation of Christ followers.
